Well, the defending national champions won’t be going anywhere. Baylor hosted No. 6 Villanova, defeating the Wildcats 57-36. On Monday, the Bears were voted No. 1 in the AP Poll after Purdue lost to Rutgers. Baylor is 9-0, with notable wins over Villanova (57-36), Michigan State (75-58), VCU (69-61) and Stanford (86-48). Scott Drew lost four starters, two that went to the NBA, and look at his team back at No. 1 in the country.
Iowa State continues to impress people, still yet to lose a game yet at 10-0. The Cyclones landed at No. 11 in the poll released on Monday. Reminder: ISU went 2-21 last season and already have multiplied their win total from last year by five.
TCU had a great, quiet week, beating Utah and Texas A&M. Oklahoma and West Virginia beat ranked teams, helping them receive votes in the AP Poll.
