WVU Football LB commit Daiveon Taylor

A linebacker out of a Western Pennsylvania powerhouse has committed to West Virginia. Daiveon Taylor, 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, revealed his commitment to the Mountaineers during a conversation with WVU legend Pat McAfee.

Taylor, a 2026 three-star prospect, posted a video of his talk with McAfee on social media. He committed to WVU over offers from Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse and a bunch of other schools.

Taylor started his high school career at Bishop Canevin before transferring to Aliquippa.

Taylor is a big, well-built linebacker coming off his freshman season at Bishop Canevin, and he made an impact across the offensive and defensive side of the football.

He recorded 76 tackles (62 solo), 23 tackles for loss, a team-high 17 sacks, forced two fumbles, recovered four and broke up two passes to help lead the Crusaders to a 12-2 season.

His strong freshman season earned him MaxPrep’s Freshman All-American honors.
