The Mountaineers needed their kicker as much as any player in their win over Baylor on Thursday night. And Casey Legg, whose late-game field goal that ended up being the difference in the game, is now getting his just due.

Legg has been recognized as the Big 12’s Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7. The former soccer player successfully drilled a 22-yard field goal with 35 seconds remaining on the clock. WVU’s defense then was able to hang on and preserve the win.

The game winner was Legg’s second field goal in the game, having also kicked a 23-yarder. Legg currently sits perfect in both field goals and extra points so fat this season. He has made 10 out of 10 field goals and all 24 out of 24 extra points attempted.
