Three-star defensive line recruit Brandon Caesar has just one taste of live-game action over the past three years, missing his senior season to injury before redshirting in 2025. The 6-foot-4, 265 pound redshirt freshman has the type of frame pass rushers dream of, but he could face a learning curve as he makes his triumphant return to the field.

West Virginia’s roster clearly stakes out specialty positions like nickel safety and edge rusher but despite his lean frame, Caesar still falls into their defensive line category. WVU Football has plenty of experience on the defensive line this season, so Caesar will likely serve as a reserve or on special teams.

If he’s able to earn snaps on the line, expect him to line up closer to the outside at a position like 5-technique… and after a three-year layoff, he should be raring for a chance to prove himself.
