WVU Football DL commit Brandon Caesar

With hopes of continuing the success of the WVU defensive line, Brandon Caesar has made his commitment official on Wednesday’s National Signing Day.

Caesar (6-foot-4, 255 pounds) resides in Cleveland, Ohio, playing for Cleveland Heights High School.  While at Cleveland Heights, Caesar is also an accomplished wrestler. It would not be the first time WVU had a lineman who was a former wrestler, as Zach Frazier is now the starting center for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Caesar is a consensus three-star defensive lineman, with 24/7 sports rating him as the 23rd-best recruit in a loaded 2025 Ohio football class

The Mountaineers have had to fend off some perennial powerhouses to secure Caesar.  Early on in his recruiting process, Ohio State and Michigan had the upper-hand in gaining the commitment from the athletic defensive lineman.

Caesar took two trips to Morgantown. His official visit to Morgantown came in May of this past year. That is when WVU started to become the favorite in landing him, before gaining his commitment on Aug. 10, 2024.

Caesar held 25 offers including ones from Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Iowa and Pittsburgh.
