Breaking: Georgia Tech Transfer Mike Lockhart Commits to West Virginia

The transfer portal can go both ways for West Virginia as the Mountaineers received a commitment on Monday from Georgia Tech’s Mike Lockhart. Lockhart is a defensive lineman from Birmingham, Al.

“Let’s get it,” Lockhart wrote on Twitter.

Lockhart (6-foot-4, 302 pounds) spent three years at Georgia Tech, playing in 25 games for the Yellow Jackets during that span. The Alabama native recorded nine total tackles this past season. Lockhart has three years of eligibility remaining.

WVU head coach Neal Brown has had to rebuild his program after numerous players have entered their names into the transfer portal. Most recently the team lost DL Akheem Mesidor to the transfer portal, where Mesidor ended up committing to Miami (FL). Lockhart will join a core of Taijh Alston, Jalen Thorton, Dante Stills and Jordan Jefferson, amongst other talented lineman on the roster.
