West Virginia guard Joe Toussaint has entered the transfer portal, a source tells WV Sports Now. CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein was the first to report. Toussaint, a rising fifth-year senior, leaves WVU after one season.

Senior guard Kerr Kriisa enters the transfer portal with Toussaint in a matter of minutes. The pair join Tre Mitchell, who entered on Thursday night.

Toussaint (6-foot) transferred from Iowa after three years under Fran McCaffrey and inserted himself in a six-man role for Bob Huggins. Toussaint averaged 9.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in all 34 games for the Mountaineers. Toussaint had memorable performances against Pitt, Iowa State and Texas Tech this past season.

Toussaint has one year of eligibility remaining.

Toussaint enters the transfer portal in midst of WVU’s coaching change. Former head coach Bob Huggins resigned on Saturday night following a DUI charge. West Virginia is looking to hire their first men’s basketball head coach since 2007.

WV Sports Now will keep you up to date with the latest on the coaching search and the current roster.
