WVU G Kerr Kriisa has re-entered the transfer portal on Friday, a source told WV Sports Now. Kriisa’s entry was first reported by Jonathan Givony of ESPN. Kriisa spent three seasons at Arizona before transferring to West Virginia in April.

Kriisa (6-foot-3) served as a full-time starter for the last two years under Tommy Lloyd. Kriisa, a native of Estonia, averaged 9.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists this past season. Kriisa was second in the Pac-12 in total assists and also shot 37 percent from three. Kriisa has appeared in the last two NCAA Tournaments for Arizona, reaching the Sweet-16 last year.

Kriisa has two years of eligibility remaining.

During his portal recruitment, Kriisa visited West Virginia, as well as Nebraska. Xavier and Creighton were other schools that had high interest in the guard. Cincinnati is the latest school that has been linked with Kriisa. The Bearcats picked up Butler transfer G Simas Lukosius, who has a connection with Kriisa.

West Virginia is currently in search of their new men’s basketball head coach after Bob Huggins resigned last Saturday. Kriisa said many great things about Huggins during his short time at WVU.

“Man.. I knew the dude 3 months but felt like forever. So thankful for really believing in me and taking me as part of your family forever. Love u coach,” Kriisa wrote after Huggins resigned.

Kriisa joins Tre Mitchell as the Mountaineers to enter the transfer portal.
