Big 12 Turns Up Heat, Files Complaints Against Texas Tech

After a couple weeks of an extremely contentious back and forth, the battle between Big 12 vs. Texas Tech and Brendan Sorsby has been resolved.

Hours after the Big 12 Board of Directors confirmed reports that the conference filed a formal complaint, Texas Tech and Sorsby decided to mutually part ways, making it so he will not play college football in 2026.

Sorsby then decided to apply to enter the NFLโ€™s Supplemental Draft.

In response to the resolution, Texas Tech board chair Cody Campbell released a statement.

โ€œTexas Tech will continue to provide the support and recovery resources Brendan requires on this journey. Furthermore, Texas Tech will not seek return of any amounts already paid to Brendan through his NIL agreements with the University,โ€ he wrote.
