Source: DJ Oliver One of Two Players No Longer with WVU Football Program
Despite the transfer portal being closed, a couple players have exited the WVU football program. WV Sports Now can confirm through a source that running back DJ Oliver is no longer a Mountaineer.
This confirmation comes after a report from EerSports.com about both Oliver and offensive lineman Charlie Katarincic’s departure.
A source tells me RB DJ Oliver is no longer with the West Virginia football program. @EerSportsDotCom was first with the news.

The transfer portal is currently closed to non graduate transfers, but Oliver left the program after winter workouts and will now be on the hunt for a new college home once the portal reopens after spring ball.
Oliver played in four games as a freshman in 2023 and was withheld from further action by WVU football head coach Neal Brown to preserve his eligibility. The 6-foot-3, 237-pound back was a member of West Virginia’s 2023 recruiting class.
As for Katarincic, the report from EerSports suggests he has also left the program. He arrived in Morgantown in 2022 and then redshirted his first year at WVU. He played only a handful of snaps and experienced some time on special teams this past season.
WV Sports Now will update this story as we learn more information.
