Wednesday, FloWrestling put out its first Big 12 Conference wrestling rankings. Only a few conference duals have actually taken place to this point in the 2021 season. With that, these ratings are based mainly on the strength of team lineups, according to Flo.

Here are how the WVU grapplers rank:

As a team, Flo places the Mountaineers as the No. 8 tournament team and the No. 9 dual meet team in the conference.

Looking ahead, West Virginia will take the weekend off before competing against Big 12 affiliate Northern Colorado on Sunday, Jan. 31, at noon, inside the WVU Coliseum.

During the week off, WVU will be holding wrestle-offs to sure up some “open weights” moving forward.

Also of note, on Wednesday, Jan. 20, Northern Colorado paused team activities due to COVID-19 protocol. Thus, UNC’s dual vs. Oklahoma State set for this weekend was canceled. No word has been given about the Northern Colorado – West Virginia dual meet on Jan. 31.
