Mountaineers in the Pros
Former Mountaineer Darius Stills Signs with USFL’s Birmingham Stallions
Former Mountaineer great Darius Still will get another shot at a professional football career, granted not in the NFL this time.
Stills has signed as a free agent with the Birmingham Stallions. The Stallions won the USFL’s inaugural championship during the 2022 season this past Spring.
Despite a stellar college career at WVU, Still has not been able to find any kind of success professionally. An injury led to his release by the Raiders, the franchise he signed with after not being drafted. Stills then signed a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, but that did not stick either.
Up to this point, Stills’ progress towards his pro career has been mostly unknown. Stills has spent time preparing to be a new dad and helping his younger bother Dante progress towards an NFL opportunity of his own during his final season for West Virginia.
