Former West Virginia punter Pat McAfee donates $1 million to WVU Children’s
On Thursday, former West Virginia kicker/punter Pat McAfee signed a blockbuster four-year deal with online sportsbook FanDuel for his daily sports show “The Pat McAfee Show.”
After the Indianapolis Colts punter hung up the cleats after an eight-year career, he entered the world of media with Barstool Sports and later started his own radio sports talk show in 2019 and has grown a massive following over the years.
With the money he received from the deal, McAfee gave back to some of the people/places that made him into the person he is today. One of those places was WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.
When WVU athletes & special guests visit the hospital they motivate & inspire our patients. It’s beautiful to hear the stories of the impact, even years later, made on those visitors. Thank you, @PatMcAfeeShow! This gift provides hope to our patients & families. #GrowChildrens pic.twitter.com/C8MrPNWHz7

Throughout his four-year career as a Mountaineer, WVU Children’s was one of the first places that he had the chance to serve the community.
FanDuel was already a sponsor for McAfee’s show but has become the exclusive sportsbook of the show with this deal. McAfee and his staff are moving into “The FanDuel Igloo” in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the next couple of months.
