WVU Football QB commit Scotty Fox

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Depending who you ask, freshman quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. is one of the best signal callers in the class of 2025. Rivals ranks the 6-foot-2, 210 pound Fox as a four-star recruit and the No. 8 dual threat quarterback in the nation. He chose WVU Football over offers from close to a dozen programs, including Indiana, Boston College and Michigan State.

His recruiting prestige could put Fox in line for the Mountaineersโ€™ starting job someday, although heโ€™ll likely spend the 2025 season learning head coach Rich Rodriguezโ€™s playbook and getting used to the demands of the college game.

Last year: N/A

Stats: N/A

Camp outlook: With the Mountaineersโ€™ quarterback competition consisting of veterans like Nicco Marchiol and Jaylen Henderson, the talented Fox will likely wait in the wings next season.

Projected role: Fox will almost certainly redshirt, although he could pick up some fourth quarter snaps in lopsided early season contests.

Accolades, highlights: Fox scored 41 total touchdowns and accumulated 3,076 yards (324 of them on the ground) as a senior in 2024. That earned him a four-star ranking from Rivals and three-star billings from the rest of the recruiting services.
