From the Other Side: WVU-Army Liberty Bowl Preview with Mitchell Northam

Unlike some other programs, West Virginia decided to accept a bowl bid and take part in college football’s postseason despite the pandemic. Neal Brown and his Mountaineers want an opportunity to cap off this season properly and end it on a high note. WVU’s 5-4 season earned them a spot in the Liberty Bowl and a matchup with Army.

Host Mike Asti finishes off the football version of his “From the Other Side” series on Pittsburgh Sports Live by previewing the Liberty Bowl with Mitchell Northam, who many “Now Network” fans may know as a stringer with Pittsburgh Sports Now. Mitchell also covers service academy teams for SB Nation.

How good is this 9 win Army team? How important was being in a bowl game to Army? What challenges did Army have to endure to even play a full schedule as an independent during a global pandemic? Could the difficult of even getting in a bowl game despite 9 wins convince Army they need to join a conference?
