Gambler’s Corner: Week Four

Published

on

Let me preface by apologizing for our absence.

There are loads of great things happening at DubVNation and we got a bit sidetracked.

But we’re back. For good.

If you recall, we are sitting at 3-0 on the season thanks to impressive showings from our week one picks. Let’s keep it going!

Results from Week One:

  • WVU (-10) versus Tennessee – Win
  • Central Florida (-24) versus UCONN – Win
  • Washington State versus Wyoming (Over 45 points) – Win

Hot Picks of Week Four

Texas A&M (+27) at Alabama

Betting against the Crimson Tide is not a wise decision but 27 points is a lot to give a really good Texas A&M team. I recall watching the Aggies give Clemson everything it wanted and then some when the Tigers visited College Station in week two. Alabama’s defense is allowing just over 300 yards per game while the Aggies are averaging close to 600 per contest. I like Jimbo Fisher’s offense to keep pace with Tua Tagovailoa and the Tide.

Kansas State (+16.5) at West Virginia

I was told a long time ago not to bet with your heart but with your wallet. And as much as I would enjoy seeing the Mountaineers embarrass Bill Snyder’s Wildcats, West Virginia has never defeated Kansas State by more than a touchdown. The Wildcats, for whatever reason, are Dana Holgorsen’s toughest foe not named Oklahoma. I expect another close, gritty match up on Saturday between these two rivals.

Georgia at Missouri (over 64.5 points)

This may be my “lock” of the week if there ever was one. Missouri boasts one of the best passing games in the country and Georgia’s offense is predicated on the ability to run the ball. Both are well-oiled machines capable of lighting up a scoreboard. I give it until the third quarter before you’re counting this pick as a win.
