Highly-touted transfer Jesse Edwards has been contacted by West Virginia’s staff, a source tells WV Sports Now. Edwards spent four seasons at Syracuse before entering the transfer portal early Tuesday morning.

**Update: Edwards is set to visit West Virginia starting on Friday and lasting throughout the weekend.

According to 24/7 High School Hoops, Edwards has also heard from Arkansas, BYU, Gonzaga, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Seton Hall and Vanderbilt just hours into the portal.

Edwards (6-foot-11) averaged 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks on 59 percent shooting from the field. Edwards was named to the All-ACC Third Team this past season. Edwards has started for the Orange the past two years. The native of the Netherlands enters the portal after long-time Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim retired.

Edwards played seven minutes against West Virginia in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

WVU’s staff has been busy on Tuesday as they’ve finalized a plan to host Iowa State transfer Caleb Grill for a visit from April 16-18.
