It’s a Gold Rush in Morgantown: WVU Football Week 3
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University football team has unveiled its uniforms for the Week 3 game against the no. 15 Virginia Tech Hokies. The stage is set for the 53rd meeting of the Black Diamond Rivalry, and the Mountaineers are donning the gold jerseys for the first time this season. Fans are also advised to wear gold, and gold shakers are available at all of the Milan Puskar Stadium gates.
WVU has gone 13-3 in the gold jersey-blue pants combination, including a 2020 win (Week 6’s 37-10 vs. Kansas State) and loss (Week 2’s 27-13 vs. Oklahoma State) each. The addition of the gold helmet was distinct to the Kansas State win, in Morgantown on Halloween.
