Jax State Transfer DB Fred Perry Commits to WVU Football

As the WVU football staff’s second transfer commitment of the day, safety Fred Perry announces he’s following Rich Rodriguez from Jacksonville State to West Virginia.

Perry’s commitment comes after taking an official visit with to WVU.

Perry (5-foot-11, 200-pounds) spent the last three seasons with the Gamecocks, totaling 257 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 10 passes deflections, six forced fumbles, three sacks and a pair of interceptions in 36 games played.

He recorded 97 of those tackles, nine tackles for a loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups during a monster 2024 season that saw him earn first team All-Conference honors.
