McCabe is averaging 2.4 points and 1.5 assists per game in 24 games this season, including five starts. The junior has been the primary backup to sophomore starter Miles “Deuce” McBride and WVU’s primary ball-handler off the bench.
Without McCabe, WVU is left with two primary point guards, McBride and Kedrian Johnson. Johnson, a former junior college transfer, is averaging 1.3 points and 0.8 assists in 21 games this season. He scored a career-high nine points in 25 minutes against Oklahoma State earlier this season.
