For the first time in over a decade, the Big 12 Conference took home back-to-back national championships in men’s basketball thanks to Kansas’ 71-68 win over North Carolina on Monday night. Kansas defeated Texas Southern, Creighton, Providence, Miami (FL), Villanova and North Carolina to win their fourth title.

Last season, Baylor defeated Gonzaga, 86-70, to capture the conference’s first championship since 2008.

This marks the first time in over a decade that a conference won titles in consecutive years. From 2009-11, North Carolina and Duke won back-to-back national championships for the ACC.

Over the past few seasons, the Big 12 has proven to being one of, if not, the best conference in college basketball. For the third-straight season, the Big 12 played for a national championship with Texas Tech (2019), Baylor (2021) and Kansas (2022).
