Devin Grant began his college career during the COVID-altered 2020 season. A three-star recruit out of high school, he earned playing time from day one but never managed to break into the starting lineup as a major contributor.

After 15 games in three years at Colorado, Grant dropped down to the FCS level with Incarnate Word, finally realizing his potential as a recruit in 2024 when he racked up 8.5 sacks across 14 games (13 starts). Grant transferred to WVU Football following the spring practice period, giving himself another shot at FBS during his final college season.

If he capitalizes on last season’s breakout, the 6-foot-2, 267 pound outside linebacker/defensive end could earn playing time as part of a rotation in 2025.

Last year: Grant played at Incarnate Word (FCS), starting 13 of 14 games for a team that made the national quarterfinals.

Stats: 31 total tackles, 8.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2024, his first full season of playing time in college.

Camp outlook: Grant could turn out as a late bloomer after breaking out in 2024, his fifth collegiate season. Listed as a defensive lineman, Grant’s size and playing style fit that of an outside linebacker or pass rushing defensive end.

Projected role: Expect Grant to take rotational snaps as a pass rusher in 2025.
