Marcus Simms Suspended for Opener

Published

on

Per MSNSports.com, Marcus Simms has been suspended for the season opener against Virginia Tech in Landover, Maryland following a DUI arrest Sunday Morning.

Simms was pulled over by Morgantown police due to a broken taillight. After the officer noticed the smell of marijuana inside the vehicle, Simms failed a sobriety test and was booked with a DUI.

Simms was also driving with a revoked license after he was charged with a DUI in Maryland in May of 2017.

Holgorsen’s decision of a one game suspension comes as a surprise given this is Simms’ second DUI arrest in four months. Even though every situation is different just like Holgorsen eluded to in his statement following the arrest, Simms’ could have easily faced a more severe punishment.
