Morgantown HS Three-Peats for WV Class AAAA State Title
Morgantown HS basketball won its third-straight West Virginia Class AAAA State Title on Saturday afternoon, defeating Spring Mills 35-32 in overtime.
It was a low-scoring classic between the No. 1 and 2 teams in the state. The Mohigans avenge a 53-49 loss to Spring Mills back in December, which was their only loss of the season.
MHS is led by Akron guard commit Sharron Young, who hit a three with seven seconds left to take the lead. Morgantown closed the game out with a pair of free throws from Izzy Everett. Everett also tied the game to take the contest to overtime.
Morgantown HS is coached by Dave Tallman, who now has a three-peat under his belt.
