Mountaineers Battling the Flu

Published

on

If you thought the Mountaineers’ recent slump was enough cause for concern, it seems Bob Huggins now has a much larger problem on his hands.

On Friday morning during a Mountaineers’ practice session, Huggins announced that his already frustrated team is now dealing with the flu.

“We’ve got guys in and out of the hospital,” Huggins explained. “It isn’t good.”

It’s well documented that the Mountaineers are one of the most experienced teams when it comes to traveling and especially traveling by airplane since its closest conference opponent is over 800 miles away.

” We fly on a plane; all the air gets recycled.”

Huggins has not (yet) ruled anyone out for tomorrow’s contest against Kansas State, but did admit that the recent string of “flu-like symptoms” played a role during Wednesday’s loss to Iowa State.

Daxter Miles Jr. missed the game versus Iowa State due to “illness” and hasn’t practiced or played in six days.
