Mountaineers in the Pros
New York Giants Cut Former Mountaineer OT Yodny Cajuste
On Wednesday, the New York Giants cut offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste from injured reserve. The Giants reached a contract settlement with the former Mountaineer, per the NFL transaction wire.
Cajuste is now a free agent and able to sign with another NFL team. This move comes just two weeks after the Giants placed Cajuste on injured reserve.
After spending the spring and summer with the Jets, Cajuste signed on with the Giants as a member of the practice squad at the end of the 2023 regular season. The Giants then signed him to a reserve/future contract on Jan. 8, 2024.
The Florida native was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by New England.
Prior to entering the NFL, Cajuste was named the Big 12’s Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2018 and also earned All-Big 12 honors in each of his last two years in college at West Virginia.
The 27-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Patriots in 2022 while making three starts.
