Mountaineers Offer Talented Virginia Lineman

Published

The Mountaineers recently offered 2019 offensive line recruit Jesse Hanson from Virginia. Coach Tony Dews has had his eye on the 6’4”,290-lb tackle for some time. Hanson also holds offers from Virginia, Iowa State, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, and Appalachian State.

Hanson fires off the line and continuously puts defensive lineman and linebackers on their back.  With his big frame, he uses his strength to lock onto a defender, clearing a path for the ball carrier.

Even with his mobility and his tenacity in the trenches, Hanson still looks to improve, “I’m always looking to Improve my speed and footwork”.

With Hanson’s athleticism he would fit into a well balanced offense, using his versatility to run and pass block, “I think I definitely can fit in their (WVU) offense and it seems they have been trying to run the ball a lot more this year and that fits me as well”.

Jesse is not too familiar with the Mountaineer Football program, but with Tony Dews on his trail he will get acquainted with the Mountaineers.

“I’ve watched them on TV quite a few times and I’ve heard about them from many of the fans that live near me.  I know they have a winning tradition but that is all”.

With still another season left at Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville, Virginia, the offers are going to continue to roll in.  Joe Wickline would be thrilled to add this talented offensive tackle to his roster.
