Press Virginia runs through Morgan State
Morgantown, W. Va.- The Mountaineers looked like the Press Virginia of old tonight as they reeked havoc on defense. In the first half the Mountaineers forced 15 turnovers and had 32. points off those turnovers. Senior guard Daxter Miles Jr. had himself a career high in points with 25. Although Morgan State did not present a stingy test, it was good to see the Mountaineers playing with confidence and more energy like fans are use to seeing from this squad.
Forward Sagaba Konate was inserted back into the starting lineup tonight after being benched in Wednesday’s game vs American and played extremely well around the rim. Konate also showed off his developed range with a couple 15 foot jumpers. West Virginia forced a total of 27 turnovers in their 111-48 win over Morgan State to improve to 2-1 on the young season.
