Red Raiders Picked as Slight Favorites in Morgantown

Published

on

Two of the worst teams in the Big 12 will meet in Morgantown Saturday when the Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The oddsmakers have Texas Tech favored in the match-up by a single point. The two teams have identical 3-5 records including both being 1-4 in conference.

Both teams come into Saturday riding losing streaks. The Mountaineers have lost four straight after defeating Kansas on Sept. 21. The Red Raiders have dropped each of their last three since beating Oklahoma State on Oct. 5.

Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells and Neal Brown have each had rocky first years in the Big 12. Wells joined TTU after six seasons at Utah State.

Jett Duffey has started at quarterback in each of TTU’s last five games after Alan Bowman went down with an injury. The junior has passed for 1,420 yards and nine touchdowns.

Kick-off Saturday is set for noon and the game will be broadcast on ESNP2.
