Sharron Young, a rising senior out of Morgantown High School, has picked up a few more offers this week. Young, a 6-foot guard, received offers from Kent State and Winthrop on Monday.

Young is apart of the 2024 class.

Young (6-foot, 150 pounds) is not ranked yet by the main recruiting databases but holds offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Columbia, Drexel, Kent State, Mount St. Mary’s, Northeastern, Ohio, Penn, Radford, Rhode Island, SC State, Southeastern Louisiana, West Virginia, Winthrop and Youngstown State. Young led Morgantown HS to back-to-back WV Class 4A State Championship’s in 2022 and 2023.

Young recently visited West Virginia in February.

“Overall, it was an awesome unofficial visit. I feel extremely blessed to have had the full game day experience from watching the team walkthrough, touring the facility, meeting the coaching staff, being on the court during warm-up and attending the game with my family,” he said. “Being a kid from Morgantown, you grow up dreaming of a day like this. I think wearing the blue and gold means a lot when you’re from West Virginia.”

MHS head coach Dave Tallman went into detail about how Young has improved during his time in high school.

“Sharron continues to improve each day and works hard in the weight room to get bigger and stronger. He’s a great kid off the court but a ‘dawg’ on the floor. He really knows how to flip that switch. He’s extremely fast and is a great floor general. His toughness is always present. He plays with a chip on his shoulder,” Tallman said. “We’re excited to have him back for one more run.”
