WVU Basketball Recruiting
Source: WVU Assistants Still in Contact with Transfer Paul Mulcahy
A source close to West Virginia tells WV Sports Now that WVU’s assistants are still in contact with Rutgers graduate transfer Paul Mulcahy. The extent to how involved the staff is unknown at the moment with the coaching search going on but don’t be surprised if West Virginia sneaks their way back into Mulcahy’s recruitment.
WVSN reached out to Mulcahy to confirm but has not responded as of Wednesday afternoon. An outside source from WVU was able to confirm though.
Look, it might sound insane right now, I know. Just don’t be surprised if WVU is still in this or has sneaked their way back into this

West Virginia made contact with Mulcahy the morning he entered the transfer portal on June 9. Mulcahy spent four seasons at Rutgers, averaging 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists this past year. Mulcahy also shot 37 percent from three.
Mulcahy most recently visited Washington earlier this week with Notre Dame also heavily involved. Kentucky and Gonzaga are two other schools involved but doesn’t seem to be the interest of the Huskies or Fighting Irish.
WV Sports Now will keep you updated on Mulcahy’s recruitment.
