It may come as a surprise to some, but the highest draft prospect for the Mountaineers in the 2019 NBA Draft is not Sagaba Konate. It is actually Lamont West according to NBADraft.net.

Lamont West averaged 9.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in his sophomore campaign. Some say he had a rough year seeing as how when Esa Ahmad came back to play, West lost his starting spot.

He came off the bench as a sixth man and played pretty well in the National tournament against Marshall as he got a double-double. Throughout much of the latter half of the season, he was reportedly dealing with a wrist injury which could have been a reason for his shooting slumps.

Lamont West is projected as the number 14 overall pick while Sagaba Konate is right after him at the 16 spot.
