“I am thrilled that Ari is joining our program,” WVU coach Mike Carey said in a statement. “Her athleticism, skillset and aggressive style of play fits us perfectly. Ari can play multiple positions, and I look forward to coaching her.”
Gray is a two-time All-BIG EAST honorable mention and a six-time BIG EAST Player of the Week winner. Her all-conference selections came in 2018-19 when she averaged 13.9 points and 11.5 rebounds and in 2019-20, averaging 15.8 points and 9.3 rebounds, leading the team in scoring and rebounding both years.
Gray again led Xavier this season, averaging 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Xavier finished 5-10, going 2-8 in conference, playing an abbreviated schedule in 2020-21.
