West Virginia hires two assistants to staff

According to a report from FootballScoop.com, West Virginia head coach Neal Brown has hired two of his assistants from Troy.

The two hires? Defensive line coach Jordan Lesley and co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Sean Reagan.

Lesley spent three seasons at East Mississippi Community College also known as the home of the Netflix show “Last Chance U” prior to a three year stint at Troy. During his three seasons as defensive coordinator at EMCC, his defense only allowed 10.3 points per game and 232.1 yards per game.

In 2017, Troy ranked 3rd nationally in tackles for loss per game (8.62) and 7th nationally in sacks per game 3.23.

As for Reagan, he has followed Neal Brown for years. Reagan was a member of the Texas Tech staff that put together the scouting report on opposing defenses from week to week. He was a graduate assistant at Troy from 2008-09 when Brown was the offensive coordinator at and then returned to Troy in 2011 and was named the qurterbacks coach.

In 2013, quarterback Corey Robinson completed 30/32 passes in a win over UAB which set a record for completion percentage in a game. In 2014, Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers broke the NCAA record for highest completion percentage by a freshman (70.6).
