West Virginia offensive line target impressed with WVU culture

Earlier this week, I spent some time talking with class of 2020 offensive lineman Tate Johnson of Callaway High School (LaGrange, GA). Johnson was recently offered by defensive assistant Al Pogue and came away impressed with the Mountaineers following their conversation.

“I really enjoyed talking to coach Pogue when he came by the school and offered me. He was a very cool coach to have conversations with. We talked about the new staff and the culture and energy they’re bringing. I came away more interested in WVU following our conversation and I feel like I need to make it up to Morgantown and check it all out.” Johnson said.

Johnson is a move-able piece up front and is not married to one position, “I can play anywhere on the line. I’m comfortable with it all! I don’t have a strong preference, I just love to play.” he noted.

No visit date is set at the moment, but Johnson certainly seems like he is working on getting that nailed down. He also holds offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Missouri, Pitt, Purdue, Louisville, Boston College, Vanderbilt and a bevy of others.
