Just a few minutes before No. 14 West Virginia tip-off against No. 12 Oklahoma Saturday afternoon, the Mountaineers were projected as a No. 3 seed for the NCAA tournament if the season were to end today. WVU is the No. 10 overall team, according to the committee. Other Big 12 teams listed in the top 16 seeds were Baylor as a No. 1 seed, Oklahoma as a No. 3 seed and Texas Tech as a No. 4 seed.

The entire tournament is going to be held in Indiana this year. Games will be played on courts inside Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse (Indiana Pacers), Hinkle Fieldhouse (Butler) and Indiana Farmers Coliseum (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, along with Mackey Arena on Purdue’s Campus in West Lafayette and Indiana’s Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.

Selection Sunday will be on March 14 and the tournament is scheduled to finish with Final Four games on April 3 and the national championship on April 5. Before then, WVU still has scheduled games against Texas, TCU and Kansas State as well as outstanding games against Oklahoma State, TCU and two against Baylor that were all previously postponed.
