West Virginia’s NCAA Tournament Projections Heading into Selection Weekend

West Virginia completed their conference play in Kansas City, wrapping up their two-day run in the Big 12 Tournament. WVU sits with a 19-14 record overall. Let’s take a look at where all of the bracketologists have the Mountaineers.
According to BracketMatrix:
Average seed: 8.76
Highest seed: 6
Lowest seed: 10
**projections by 102 bracketologists
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has West Virginia as a 9-seed playing Iowa, with the winner most likely playing 1-seed Alabama in Birmingham.
“I’m proud of our team. We dug ourselves out of a huge hole in this league to start. We’re going to hear our name called on Sunday. It’s just a matter of when and where, who we play,” WVU G Erik Stevenson said after the loss to Kansas. “We got to take our whole bodies, reset our minds. Now it’s a one-game season at this point.”
West Virginia will await their NCAA Tournament bid on Sunday during the Selection Show on CBS starting at 6 p.m.

They always give WVU the toughest path every year. They never match them up with some team that is equal to WVU instead they always match them up with a team that has 5 or more wins than WVU. I don’t understand why WVU always gets a raw deal? Maybe because WVU does not pay out millions of dollars to the people creating the brackets is the only thing I can think of.

IF they get in …and that’s still a big “IF” in my mind, don’t be surprised if they’re a 12 seed !! Huggins has complained about the committee so much publicly that they will NOT be kind !!
