WVU Basketball Regular Season Finale Against UCF Sold Out

WVU basketball announced on Thursday that its home game against UCF next month on March 8 is sold out.
It will be just the fourth all-time meeting between the Golden Knights and Mountaineers. The two played just once prior to UCF joining the Big 12 before last season, making the pair first-time conference mates.
WVU holds a 2-1 lead in the young series, winning the first meeting in 2017, 83-45. The teams split a home-and-home swing last season with WVU winning 77-67 in Morgantown and UCF prevailing 72-59 in Orlando.
This is the third announced sellout for WVU basketball this season, joining Iowa State on Jan. 18, which was celebrated as Jerry West Day, and Utah last Saturday, Feb. 8.
The atmosphere inside the WVU Coliseum this season has drawn rave reviews from coaches and players from both the Mountaineers and their opponents. Utah coach Craig Smith said his first time in the Coliseum was everything he thought it would be.
โWhat an amazing environment tonight,โ Smith said after his Utes lost 72-61. โIt was a great, spirited atmosphere in there.โ
It was Utah’s first-ever trip to Morgantown as the Utes joined the Big 12 this season.
โWhen you turn the TV on, if you see (a WVU) game, itโs hard to turn the channel,โ Smith said. โYou can feel the atmosphere through the screen. This is my first time as a coach participating in a game in that arena and itโs a cool vibe, itโs a special vibe in here and you can feel that.โ
WVU basketball has just three more home games this season, Feb. 19 against Cincinnati, Feb. .25 against TCU and the regular-season finale on March 8 versus UCF. The Mountaineers are 10-4 at home this season.
โHome games are so golden in this league, you have to come in and be ready to go,โ WVU head coachย Darian DeVries said after the Utah game.
