WVU Basketball Showing Interest in Big Ten Transfer Forward

Even though Ross Hodge has enjoyed some success in the transfer portal, WVU basketball fans are still waiting for more and more is needed to fill out the roster. To that end, Hodge and his staff are going after Iowa transfer forward Seydou Traore.
In fact, West Virginia is one of 11 programs Traore brought up to the Portal Report. Traore says he has received interest from the Mountaineers along with Alabama, Colorado State, FAU, Georgia Tech, George Washington, Memphis, Penn State, Seton Hall and UNLV.

The 6-foot-7, 220-pound Traore would bring Power Four experience, having spent the 2024-25 season with Iowa in the Big Ten. Prior to his lone season with the Hawkeyes, Traore started his college career with Manhattan.
Traoe’s production did dip after moving up from the mid major level, averaging 5.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game last season, which was down from his averages of 11.8 points and 8.2 boards per during the 2023-24 season.
