WVU Commit Christion Stokes in the Running for Michigan Mr. Football

A lot of talented athletes have come through the West Virginia program over the years, and it appears that the next in a long line will be making his way to Morgantown next season.

2022 three-star athlete Christion Stokes from Harper Woods High School in Harper Woods, Michigan has done it all for the Pioneers this season. Stokes (6-foot-0, 180 pounds) has played as a running back and wide receiver on offense and a safety on defense for a 4-1 Harper Woods’ squad.

Through four games this season, Stokes has been a force on both offense and defense. He’s racked up 899 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, and he’s caught seven balls for 74 yards and another three scores. On defense, he’s accumulated 44 tackles and six tackles for loss.

While it appears destined that Stokes will settle in as a defensive back in West Virginia’s defense, it’s clear he’s a game-changing threat capable of impacting on both sides of the ball. If he’s eventually a cornerback or safety in the Mountaineer defense, he appears likely to develop into a ballhawk with strong hands.

Harper Woods has a week off and will be back in action in two week at home against Allen Park High School.
