WVU DB Tavian Mayo Enters Name in Transfer Portal

West Virginia University defensive back Tavian Mayo is in the NCAA transfer portal.
Mayo, who tweeted the announcement he plans to leave WVU on Tuesday morning, was listed as a backup free safety for the Mountaineers but has not dressed for any recent games.
My time at West Virginia University has been a wonderful experience… this is really almost heaven; the fans are amazing and the atmosphere 🤯… however I’ve decided to part ways with WVU. Im entering my name into the transfer portal to pursue my dreams at a new home. #TTC

Mayo played sparingly in 2019 as a true freshman cornerback for WVU, but stayed under four games and retained his redshirt. So far this season, Mayo had been moved from cornerback to safety and made his only tackle of the season last month against Eastern Kentucky.
