WVU Extends Offer to Ohio Offensive Lineman

West Virginia’s Coach Gerberry has offered offensive lineman Ryan Jacoby out of North Eastern Ohio. Jacoby, a Mentor High School Product, can play either guard or tackle.  His lists of offers include Toledo, Akron, Bowling Green, Iowa State, Cincinnati, and West Virginia.

Ryan says conference does not matter when he picks a school but didn’t shy away from expressing how excited he was to receive an offer from the Mountaineers.

“It is a great offer from a great program.”
Jacoby was in Morgantown for the Texas Tech game on October 14th to watch the comeback win for the Mountaineers.  “It was awesome, its a different campus then I have seen before and it was beautiful. The game atmosphere was amazing and a great game to go to,” said Jacoby.
Despite the recent visit, Jacoby is not yet ready to name leaders but did lay out what he will look for in a future school.
“Not yet. I want to put my team and our season first then I will focus on my recruiting,” the 6-4, 260-pound Jacoby responded when asked about favorites. He did share that he wants to attend a school that feels like home, provides great academics, and somewhere he really likes the coaches.
Jacoby would fit well into West Virginia’s offense since his high school also runs a fast-paced offense. He excels in the run game, carving a path for his running backs, but he also has long arms, excellent agility and footwork in order to stand his ground in the passing game.
