WVU Fans Rejoice Over Reports of Wren Baker Extension
Reports that WVU signed director of athletics Wren Baker to a two-year extension instantly sparked excitement and support from members of Mountaineer Nation on social media. Bakerβs new deal will keep him in Morgantown through December of 2030, further ending any speculation that another school could steal him away.

When is the last time West Virginia University hired someone as good as Wren Baker? Heβs been a home run.
His extension is well deserved. The dude gets it.

I think heβs a perfect fit. Met him last year at the baseball game in Lexington. Great guy.

Since taking over the position for Shane Lyons, Baker has played a part in menβs and womenβs basketball hires, as well as volleyball. Baker has also helped with the transition of the baseball program as manager Randy Mazey will retire at the conclusion of the season. In March, Baker extended football head coach Neal Brown for another year after a nine-win season that included a Dukeβs Mayo Bowl win over North Carolina.
Before WVU, Wren Baker served at North Texasβ athletic director, helping the Green Wave transition into the American Athletic Conference.
