Since taking over the position for Shane Lyons, Baker has played a part in men’s and women’s basketball hires, as well as volleyball. Baker has also helped with the transition of the baseball program as manager Randy Mazey will retire at the conclusion of the season. In March, Baker extended football head coach Neal Brown for another year after a nine-win season that included a Duke’s Mayo Bowl win over North Carolina.
Before WVU, Baker served at North Texas’ athletic director, helping the Green Wave transition into the American Athletic Conference.
