The same week Rich Rodriguez talked about needing to see more from his current defense, his WVU football staff sent an offer to a top recruit in an effort to help build the defensive unit for years to come.

Kaden Henderson, a four-star linebacker from Florida, announced an offer from West Virginia on Monday. He tagged WVU defensive coordinator Zac Alley in his post with the offer on social media.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Henderson is building a name for himself as a 2027 prospect out of Jesuit High School in Tampa Bay. Henderson is already a consensus four-star player and ranked as one of the top 10 players in a state that is known for breeding talent. On3 Sports even currently ranks Henderson as their No. 1 Florida player for his class.

Henderson’s WVU offer came a week after he received one from Michigan and about a month after earning one from another blue blood in USC. He already has offers on the table from major Power Four programs like Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami (FL), Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Texas A&M among others.

Henderson will be in Miami for a spring visit later in the week.
