WVU Football Beats Out Several P4s for 2026 OL Jonas Muya
On the eve of the December Early National Signing Day, the WVU football staff landed a massive recruiting win. Highly coveted offensive tackle Jonas Muya announced his commitment to West Virginia on Tuesday evening.
“Today, I proudly announce my commitment to WVU football. Coming from far away, this represents a significant step towards the future Iโve envisioned for myself. Iโve faced numerous sacrifices and trials, including the pain of putting aside my first love for basketball, but I persevered and grew stronger as a result. Each obstacle has fueled my determination to achieve my goals. With honor and unwavering resolve, I commit to West Virginia University. This is the new next chapter. Just take me home,” said Muya.

Listed at 6-foot-7 and 280 pounds, Muya picked the Mountaineers over Power Four offers from Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Minnesota and Purdue. Muya’s commitment comes after his official visit. West Virginia initially sent him an offer in September.ย
A product of Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, Muya is ranked as one of the top five players in Indiana and top 50 offensive lineman in the country. Rivals has Muya as the nation’s No. 36 offensive tackle.
