The Mountaineers played an excellent game coming off the loss to Missouri. NC State came into the game at 2-0 and was picked by the experts to win the game but West Virginia won the game by 17 points and played a complete game on offense, defense, and special teams. It was a great team win, but let’s focus on some key defensive performances.

Dante had another big day. He puts a lot of pressure on the offensive line with his size, speed and athleticism. He finished the game with 2 sacks, 2 TFL’s, and 3 solo tackles.  After 3 games, Dante is tied for 2nd in the Big 12 in sacks and TFL’s.

Darius is the only Mountaineer to receive a defensive helmet sticker all 3 games this season. His consistent energy and relentless tenacity makes a huge impact on Vic Koenning’s defense. Darius is also tied for 2nd in the Big 12 in sacks and 4th in TFL’s.
