WVU Football RB recruit Amir Brown

In an effort to make WVU football a running back factory, Rich Rodriguez and his staff sent an offer to a top recruit in the 2027 class. Amir Brown revealed that he received an offer from WVU this week on social media.

Brown (5-foot-11 and 205 pounds), who attends Rolesville High School in Raleigh, is a consensus four-star recruit and considered one of the top overall prospects in North Carolina. He was initially being recruited by West Virginia running backs coach Larry Porter to stay home and become a Tar Heel.

Brown is rated as a top 100 player in the country by most national outlets and as high as the No. 4 running back by 247 Sports.

An all around athlete, Brown totaled 903 all purpose yards during the 2024 season, with 624 yards on the ground and 279 coming as a receiver. He scored 16 combined touchdowns.

The embedded video below shows highlights of Brown from his most recent season.

To no surprise, Brown already has numerous offers on the table from major programs. In addition to WVU and UNC, Brown has offers from schools like Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas A&M and UCF along with many others.
