West Virginia officially jumped in the mix for a four-star safety from North Carolina. On Dec. 15, the WVU football staff extended an offer to Davion Jones.

He then announced the offer on social media and thanked several coaches, most notably his lead recruiter safeties coach Gabe Franklin.

Jones, who lists himself as 6-foot and 175 pounds, is considered one of the top 2027 prospects in North Carolina.

Ranked as the No. 5 player in the state and the No. 12 safety in the country, Jones is finishing his high school career at West Charlotte High School.
