WVU Football Recruiting
WVU Football Instantly Becomes Among Top Contenders for 2026 3-Star LB

In an effort to find linebacker depth for the future, the WVU football staff sent an offer to an Ohio recruit. Ja’Dyn Williams added West Virginia to his offer list on March 28.
Williams mentioned WVU defensive coordinator Zac Alley in his announcement.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Williams attends Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio as a 2026 prospect.
Despite still waiting to earn more recognition from national recruiting outlet, Rivals has awarded Williams three stars. It’s possible Williams is one of those overlooked players West Virginia believes they can squeeze something from, although WVU isn’t the only Power Four school to notice him.
In addition to the Mountaineers, Williams has offers from Boston College, Big 12 rival Cincinnati, Kentucky, Indiana and Virginia as far as major conference programs. He also has offers from Akron, Buffalo, Kent State, Miami (OH), Toledo and Western Kentucky just to name a few others.

247 Sports currently projects Williams to eventually commit to Indiana while Rivals feels WVU now has the advantage as the most recent and most historic program in the mix.
